The Harris Center’s scholarships are granted on the basis of academic excellence and/or financial need, regardless of religious or ethnic background. Other criteria vary; see below.
Henry and Dorothy Reikes Scholarship
Awarded to a student with sophomore standing or above, currently enrolled in one course that applies to the minor in Jewish studies. Amount varies; typically $500-$600. Administered by the College of Arts and Sciences.
Harris Center for Judaic Studies Travel Scholarship
Competitive grant of up to $800, awarded annually to one or more undergraduate students minoring in Jewish studies who have specific, well-conceived travel plans for language study, research, or other learning experiences related to Jewish culture, religion, and/or history. Budget and budget justification required. Due March 15.

Bernice Harris Book Scholarship
Students enrolled in any course cross-listed in Jewish studies (except JUDS 339/HIST 339) or counted toward the minor in Jewish studies can apply for a $100 scholarship to cover the cost of books. Brief essay required. Note: minoring in Jewish studies is not required for this award. Due Friday of the third week of classes, each semester.
