The Nebraska Teacher Inservice will explore resources from the Nebraska Stories of Humanity: Holocaust Survivors & WWII Veterans Network Portal and Educational Website in partnership with the Teaching with Primary Sources, Midwest Region facilitators, a program funded by the Library of Congress.
The event will take place 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sept. 19 at Nebraska Union Room, Regency B-C. Register by September 16 at: https://forms.office.com/r/ZzVwNyHLvT.
Participants will learn about using the Library of Congress online materials and create hands-on tools to integrate these and our community partners’ materials into classroom curricula.
A guided tour of two exhibits focusing on the Holocaust will take place at the Nebraska Historical Society Museum from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
These programs are open to all content areas educators who incorporate Holocaust studies and primary sources in their teaching materials.

This summer, Research Assistant Professor Beth Dotan worked with seven student interns and the Center for Digital Research in the Humanities team to add significant content to the website. The site now hosts 34 testimonies of Holocaust survivor and WWII death camp liberator stories, including some from the USC Visual History Foundation.
