Omaha Jewish Community Center

The Omaha JCC, located roughly an hour from downtown Lincoln, houses several institutions of interest for academic Jewish Studies. Although each of the following institutions has its own website and phone line, all are located at the same address, inside the JCC complex:

The Kripke Jewish Federation Library

Houses one of the largest collections of Jewish books and other materials in the Midwest. It contains over 50,000 volumes, including Jewish periodicals, academic scholarship, general non-fiction, fiction, DVDs, CDs, teacher resources, and Russian language materials. (402) 334-6462

The Institute for Holocaust Education

Provides educational resources, workshops, survivor testimony, traveling exhibits, and integrated arts programming to students, educators and the public. Also provides support to Holocaust survivors in the Omaha community. (402) 334-6575

The Center for Jewish Life

Offers classes and programs in current events in Israel, basic Judaism, community lectures, cultural arts events, an annual Jewish Film Festival, and Hebrew language classes. The Center also administers several scholarships and grants for college and graduate students from Jewish families in the Omaha area. (402) 334-6446
