The Harris Center for Judaic Studies welcomes Dr. Kenneth D. Wald, a distinguished professor of Political Science at the University of Florida, to give a lecture on the politics of American Jews.

"The Puzzling Politics of American Jews" will take place on Monday, March 9, 2020 at 7:00 P.M in the Bailey Library, 229 Andrews Hall. The talk is free and open to the public.

Wald will explore the factors that influence the politics of the American Jewish community. He will examine the conundrum around why American Jews favor the more liberal political party and why they are the only diaspora community who tend to fall on the liberal side of the political spectrum.

He received his B.A. in political science from the University of Nebraska—Lincoln and his M.A. and PhD. from Washington University–St. Louis. Wald is the recipient of the 2019 National Jewish Book Award for American Jewish Studies.
