We are proud to announce that Gerald Steinacher, core member of the Harris Center faculty, has been awarded the National Jewish Book Award for scholarship on the Holocaust, for Nazis on the Run (Oxford University Press, 2011). The book reconstructs how Nazis and Fascists escaped from justice at the end of World War II, by fleeing through Italy to overseas. The Jewish Book Council established the National Jewish Book Awards in 1948 to recognize notable contributions to Jewish literature.
